LIVING PROOF — EXPLORING WITHOUT FORGETTING HOME

LIVING PROOF — EXPLORING WITHOUT FORGETTING HOME

Living Proof is envisioned as a home among the stars for a community of 100 explorers, researchers, and residents. Its mission is to protect life, preserve knowledge, and discover what lies beyond Earth while studying future pathways back home.

A COMMUNITY OF 100 PERMANENT RESIDENTS.

The public study baseline is now centered on 100 permanent residents. This smaller initial community allows the concept to focus on privacy, reliable life support, ecological stability, food and water independence, medical care, education, recreation, maintenance, emergency readiness, and long-duration resilience.

5,000 LITRES IN. 95% ILLUSTRATIVE RECOVERY.

Using the preliminary domestic throughput, an illustrative 95% recovery rate would return 4,750 litres per day and leave a simulated makeup requirement of 250 litres per day, or approximately 91.25 tonnes per year. This model excludes agricultural and industrial losses, storage losses, leakage, and additional recovery sources.

04 // ERS-01 EARTH RETURN STRATEGY

PRESERVE A PATHWAY HOME.

PRESERVE A PATHWAY HOME.

The return strategy is a conceptual mission-planning framework, not a guarantee. A feasible return would depend on distance, propulsion capability, travel duration, available resources, communication, medical readiness, and future engineering studies.

RETURN NAVIGATION

Evaluate return trajectories, propulsion capability, travel duration, and navigation requirements before a mission is accepted.

RETURN RESOURCE RESERVES

Plan energy, propellant, food, water, medical supplies, and maintenance allowances without assigning arbitrary reserves before mission calculations exist.

EARTH APPROACH & ARRIVAL

Study orbital operations, communications, docking or rendezvous, and planetary-protection requirements. The mothership is not assumed to enter an atmosphere or land.

CREW RETURN TRANSPORT

Evaluate future Earth-return vehicles capable of transporting residents from orbit. The five approved shuttles are not advertised as re-entry or landing vehicles.

EMERGENCY RETURN PLANNING

Develop conceptual responses for medical evacuation, mission cancellation, critical system failure, and voluntary return where feasible. Return cannot be guaranteed from arbitrary distances.

FUTURE GENERATIONS

The mission philosophy preserves the possibility that people born or raised aboard the vessel may someday choose to visit or return to Earth, subject to future capabilities and mission design.
